Individual Counseling

Individual Counseling

A chance to sit one-on-one with another person who will listen well, hope deeply on your behalf and meet you without judgment. It’s a safe place to intentionally examine yourself, your patterns, and experiences.

I strive to create a supportive environment where you will feel empowered to get to know yourself better, learn to advocate for yourself, identify your strengths and build new ones. It can be valuable just to say things out loud to a person who is there to listen and hold space for you. Therapy can feel overwhelming. It’s common to feel nervous and uncertain at the beginning and throughout the process. It’s a privilege for me to be a support and a guide for you. We’ll work together in an environment of radical acceptance to build self-compassion and rediscover hope, with the ultimate goal of you living a life that aligns with your values.

Counseling for Criminal Justice System Involvement

Compassionate counseling services for adults who are involved in the criminal justice system or their loved ones.

The criminal justice system can bring up many complicated feelings: fear, uncertainty, confusion, depression, stress, frustration, shame, anger, etc. By combining my therapy skills with my past work experience in criminal justice, I offer a compassionate, supportive approach to therapy that focuses on managing difficult emotions and learning skills to cope with the unique challenges a person faces while they move through this system. This therapy is for adults who are at any step in the process from knowing an arrest is coming, preparing for court hearings, preparing for incarceration or community supervision (probation or parole), figuring out how to tell loved ones about your situation, to dealing with the challenges of re-entry after incarceration. We will work together to name your feelings, hold space for this difficult experience and help you rebuild compassion for yourself.

I offer the same support for loved ones of those who are involved in the system. This is a unique experience that can be lonely and scary. You don’t have to walk this path alone.
